Description
Prerequisite(s): BIO 1210; HIT 1100; HIT 1200 all with a grade of C or better.
This course introduces inpatient procedural coding. It provides in-depth knowledge and practical skills essential for accurately coding inpatient medical procedures. The student will learn the ICD-10-PCS coding system, mastering the art of translating procedures into procedure codes. A review of coding guidelines and their use in the coding process will be covered. Credit(s): 3
