Description

Prerequisite(s): BIO 1150 or BIO 1330 or BIO 1350. Co-requisite(s): BIO 3850.
An advanced study of the biology of microorganisms with emphasis on host-pathogen interactions and their significance to human health. Topics include microbial structure and function, mechanisms of pathogenicity, immune interactions, antimicrobial control strategies, and chemotherapeutic agents, with disease processes examined by major body systems. Laboratory experiences emphasize experimental analysis, data interpretation, and applied microbiological techniques. Credit(s): 3
