This is the first of three courses designed to prepare the student to sit for the Cisco Certified Networking Associate certification. In it students learn network terminology and protocols, and network standards. They learn the difference between LANs and WANs. The OSI and TCP/IP models are used to define networking. Students learn to design, install and test various types of network cables using the proper cabling tools. Students use multiple number bases and Boolean logic to determine hierarchical network addressing.
