Description
Prerequisite(s): HIT 1200 with a grade of C or higher.
This course introduces the legal framework governing the privacy and security of health information. Key terminology and concepts applicable to the protection of health information are defined. Students will examine the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and other state and federal regulations and apply them to manage and safeguard health information effectively. Credit(s): 3
