Description

Prerequisite(s): None.
Studying ethics in AI is crucial because AI systems are increasingly impacting various aspects of our lives, and it's essential to ensure these technologies are developed and deployed responsibly, ethically, and in a way that benefits society. Without ethical considerations, AI could exacerbate existing societal biases, lead to harmful outcomes, and erode trust in the technology. AI technology brings major benefits in many areas, but without the ethical guardrails, it risks reproducing real world biases and discrimination, fueling divisions and threatening fundamental human rights and freedoms.
